Pupils at Springfield School started the day with an extended assembly celebrating the 100th birthday of Captain Tom Moore and reflecting upon his achievements.  The Second World War veteran, who has raised more than £30m for the NHS, challenged himself to walk 100 laps of his garden to raise £1,000, but has far exceeded this target while capturing the hearts of the nation.  Pupils created colourful birthday cards for Tom with personalised messages inside.  Happy Birthday Captain Tom!
