We have received a number of enquiries today from parents concerned by reports in the media relating to accounts of coronavirus in Northern Italy.
We have taken specific advice from Public Health England South East who have advised the following for participants in the trip:
- Returnees who have respiratory symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, fever) should not come to school, should self-isolate at home and call NHS 111 for advice.
- Returnees who have no respiratory symptoms (asymptomatic) are able to attend school as normal and do not need to self-isolate. If they develop symptoms within 14 days of return travel, they should self-isolate at home and call NHS 111 for advice.
We have been reassured that the risk to individuals remains low.
Further information and advice is available via the link below; kindly note that this advice is continually being reviewed and updated.
