We are delighted to report that it was announced at the Portsmouth Library event last night that Springfield pupil Molly Firth (8G) was awarded the first prize and Ruby Wilcox (8N) was awarded the second prize for the Portsmouth Library Short Story competition. This is a real achievement and pupils were awarded their prizes by author Ali Sparks who selected the winners and provided feedback to each student about their entry. Each student was presented with a certificate and Springfield School Library has also been given £50 worth of book funding. Well done also to Harriet Erridge, Megan Pawley, Keira Shackleton-Clift and another pupil who were shortlisted in the finals. Mrs Williams, the School Librarian thanked the pupils who took part as well as Portsmouth City Council Library Service who ran the competition. She congratulated the winners and shortlisted pupils for their achievements.
