On Friday, 24 May 2024, some of our Year 8 geographers were invited to attend a fieldwork day run by the geography PGCE students (trainee teachers) at The University of Portsmouth. The geographers were asked to carry out questionnaires, environmental quality surveys and draw field sketches along Southsea seafront. This helped them to answer the overall question of the day ‘How does the Southsea Coastal Scheme affect tourism in the local area?’ We returned to the university, collated the information and created a poster summary of the scheme which was judged by all of the participants. The winners were Evie, Elisa, Lily and Sophie - well done to them!
